News 01/08/12 Netheriel officially welcomes two new members to the band. Steve Jones as our new lead guitarist and Symon Schouten on bass! We are working our asses off to bring these new guys up to speed, and we should be back at full force in the next few months! We will back to doing shows again by the summer at the latest! 01/07/12 It's with regret that I announce the departure of Netheriel's co-founder, lead guitarist, sound engineer and album producer, DespairialIndrid. He is unable to continue with the project. We wish him the best, and Obsidian wishes to personaly convery gratitidue for the last four years of hard work and dedication he has given Netheriel! Without him things would not have gotten off the ground! 11/10/11 We have had a very busy and productive year. Not only did we at last secure a flesh and blood drummer, but we performed our first live show at the Distillery here in Calgary which turned out to be a success. We are now deep into creating new tracks for our eventual full length release due out late next year. Also we are recording an lp for January, featuring a couple new tracks and older material featuring Mantus on drums. As well for this next release, we have a new artist to work with who is creating a new album cover for us as well as a re-vamped version of our logo. 08/15/11 Netheriel now have their very first live show! It is to take place at The Distillery here in our hometown of Calgary, Alberta. We have waited years for this opportunity and are looking forward to the event. Details to follow. Work is now progressing on our third release to be entitled "maleficarum". We are anticipating 8 or 9 songs for the ablum which will include a cover song from a band that has influenced Netheriel for many years. We will also be re-recording two older tracks as bonus material for the CD. We are greatly looking forward to having Mantus on drums join us for our next release, planned tentatively for 2012. 05/15/11 The order page has been updated. New payment options are available for those who wish to purchase our albums! We realise that not everyone can use paypal, so we are now accepting cash and checks to make things easier for everyone. 03/01/11 We now endure the dead of winter here in the Netheriel camp. It has been a bleak and dreary last few months in our homeland with temperatures remaining below what is required for life to exist. Not that we mind this, however, it has slowed things down for us significantly. We had plans to widely distribute our two albums, yet winter has seen us hibernate, remain isolated indoors and make little effort in this regards. We aim to renew our efforts here soon! We undertook a break period since October, but that time is coming to an end and we are slowly resuming band activities. Currently we are jamming weekly, teaching Mantus (drums) a selection of songs so that we can begin doing local live shows in our hometown and perhaps surrounding areas. Obsidian has also been tinkering with concepts for a third release and two new songs have been written, however, there are no concrete plans to release new material until next year and after we have performed our first shows. We are nearly ready and are looking forward to unleashing hell to the local metalers. Obsidian 01/01/11 We would like to take this opportunity to officialy welcome our new drummer "Mantus" into the band!!! He's been with us for over a month now and is making rapid progress in learning the material! 12/02/10 We are going to be taking a few months off from Netheriel activities to train our new drummer and deal with other things going on in our personal lives. We will be back in late 2011 with plans for live shows and possibly a future album. We wish to thank those who have supported us over the last three years in all our endeavours. The spirit of true metal lives on in you, and to you we send our infernal regards! Ave Obsidian 10/17/10 We are very pleased to announce the completion of our long-awaited second album "The Nine Virtues of Destruction"! The new CD is now available for sale here on our official site order page. Price is $6.00 plus shipping/handling. We are also bringing the price of Regnum down to $6 as well now that we have produced many more copies.
08/05/10 It has taken many months and countless trials and setbacks, but we are at last at the final stages for unleashing our second full length CD, "The Nine Virtues of Destruction"!!! It has been a long time coming, and this weekend, Despair and I will begin laying down guitar for this monstrous new material. We will be recording over the space of two or three weeks, and will have it all wrapped up by the end of the month. The album cover is also done. Here it is!
It's finally all coming together! Our perserverance has at last paid off! In other news, we have parted ways with our Bass player, Akhkharu. He will not be appearing on this recording. We wish him the best in any future endeavours. Also, we are not currently looking for any other replacement musicians. Do not contact us about this. Ave 02/23/10 It's been a trying year for Netheriel as we struggle to complete our line up and finish our second album, contending with all manner of strife both personal and profesional. Work on the new ablum has been slow to the point of frustration, and even now, an entire year since work began on it I'm still hard-pressed to say it's at last coming to fucking completion. All guitars, vocals and drums have been arranged, and what is left is to throw it all together during an evening or two of solid, uninterupted recording, followed by several weeks of final production. All the long waiting, delays, setbacks and endless agonizing over petty bullshit has certainly built up enough fervor in me to deliver a maelstrom of misanthropic hatred on this album. I have little doubt it will top "Regnum" as far as agression is concerned! It's been far too long since I've been able to offer anything new to this site or any updates of significance, so I will go ahead and post the final track listing for the forthcoming "The Nine Virtues of Destruction". I Elatum Pestis II Divide and Slaughter III Tyrants of the Void IV Architects of Annihilation V Empire in Flames VI Mortis Maledictio VII By the sign of the End Times VIII The Unfathomed Nemesis IX Desolation and Ruin 10/25/09 After month's of searching, Netheriel at last has found our bass player! We are now only one member short of completing our line up and being able to play at live shows! We will work hard over the coming months to bring our new member up to speed on all the tracks and have him participate in the recording of our second album, "The Nine Virtues of Destruction". Work continues on our second album, and we are planning to have it complete by early next spring. 08/01/09 Work continues on our follow-up album, entitled "The Nine Virtues of Destruction". To call our new material a step forward and a challenge is to say the least! We are pushing the threshold of technicality much further this time, and taking our time to create the very best album possible. Currently we have guitar and vocal arrangements done for six of the nine tracks, and very soon we will begin recording a sampler version of one of the tracks which we will share on our myspace page. This has proven to be a trying year for us as we create this new material, but we are perservering in all regards and massacring all outside interference and complications which would threaten our resolve to see this work complete! We look forward with anticipation to release this compilation of appocalyptic veneration, misantrhopy and hatred upon the masses! Ave! 05/31/09 Netheriel are hard at work on their new album, which is due to be released early next year. We have guitars and vocals laid down for three tracks, and are planning to do nine tracks in total this time around. The album cover art has already been sketched out by Obsidian, and Despair will be coloring it just as he did with the cover for Regnum. We are greatly anticipating this release, as it is sure to be much faster, more technical and heavier than the previous release, while keeping some of the melodic black metal elements we have offered before. We will post more news of our progress soon. 05/25/09 New official site launched today! Netheriel's debut album REGNUM INFERNI is now available for purchase here |
